NO MAJOR SIGNINGS

AC Milan have not made any huge signings in this transfer window. Andrea Poli and Riccardo Saponara are the two players brought in to the club during the summer.

Despite the lack of transfer activity, Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri remains confident that the team will be able to achieve a good season. He has said that the players could benefit from playing as a team. He is in favour of this tactic over bringing in a big-money signing, although this could be largely down to the financial difficulties faced by Milan in the last few years.

This has forced them to sell the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kaka. Even though they have brought in the likes of Mario Balotelli, the team looks understrength when compared with the likes of Juventus, who have won the title in the last two seasons.

RAPIDS BEAT GALAXY

Colorado Rapids recently managed a 2-0 win over LA Galaxy during the weekend, which helped them move to the third place in the table. They are just three points behind the leaders Real Salt Lake, but it was yet another disappointing performance for LA Galaxy.

After the match, manager Bruce Arena said that he could not have any complaints about the defeat because they were totally outplayed by Colorado in all areas of the pitch. He has said that they were physically better than LA Galaxy, and it proved to be the main difference.

DONOVAN BACKS MOYES

USA soccer star Landon Donovan has said that Manchester United have made the correct decision in going for David Moyes as the replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson, who will be stepping down after 26 years in charge of the club.

Donovan has played under Moyes in two different spells at Everton. It is thought that Moyes was one of the key reasons in bringing Donovan to Goodison Park. The 30-year-old recently returned from his self-imposed sabbatical, which saw him lose his place in the national team. Moyes spent the last 11 years at Goodison Park creating a long-lasting dynasty.

BARNSLEY NET WIN

Barnsley recently managed a 2-1 win over Britain and Hove Albion that helped them move clear of the relegation zone. The team very much in that this victory, and the manager David Flitcroft praised the performance of his players.

Barnsley were coming into the match on the back of the 5-0 drubbing at the hands of the Premier league champions Manchester city. As a result, there was pressure on the manager to deliver results as the season comes to a close. Barnsley are extremely close to the relegation zone. Flitcroft has said that his team showed a similar kind of ruthlessness displayed by Manchester city.
