Pedro Chirivella about to leave Liverpool after extended stay

Pedro Chirivella will be leaving Liverpool after seven years of his stay at the club. Nantes have signed the player which have been confirmed by them. He with the French club have signed the contract for three years and will be wearing No.5 jersey. As his contract with Liverpool has expired, he will be moving to Nantes on a free transfer. As per the reports of Goal, he was offered a five-year extension at Anfield but he declined, as he wanted to play on the first team.

Chirivella is departing from Liverpool in good terms and he has also made an appearance in senior team this season which was impressive. He played in the first team after nearly three and a half years later. He has also had interest from the Scottish club Rangers too. He was given time off the bench on September in a match against MK Dons in the Carabao Cup.

Even though he got the chance to play in the senior team, it ended with controversy. He didn’t have international clearance and thus was not eligible to play in the club which led Liverpool to pay fine for the breach of rules. In 2019-20 season played in four more matches whichweretwice the number of games he has played for the senior team in 2015-16 season.

He made his debut in Premier League in 2015-16 season, which was the only time he appeared in the top flight of English league. He has also played in Europa League under Brendan Rodgers in 2015. He during his time period in Liverpool has been given in loan to many clubs like Willem II, Go Ahead Eagles and Extremadura. It was in Willem II he had more playing time as he had appeared in 35 games.
In this season, he has also played for Liverpool under 23 where he,has scored a goal and two assists by appearing on 12 games. He, in the beginning, belonged to the youth academy of Valencia and later transferred to Liverpool on 2013. He will be joining Nantes soon and they in the current season of Ligue1has finished in the 13thposition.
